Wrapped up in winter - Ping Pong winter 2012
Flashes of peacock green, soft French blue and blush set the tone for an enticing winter 2012 palette, with midnight blue, nougat, salmon and Dijon providing a mid-season thrill and khaki, flame and Wedgewood blue rounding out the late winter hues. Throughout the season, heartwarming colour is offset with steel, silver, charcoal and grey marle tones, winter white and black.
Knits form the building blocks of Ping Pong's winter '12 collection, with luxury yarns in Merino wool complemented by basic cotton must-haves, chic ribbed and printed knits and sumptuous fur trimmed pieces. Key looks include eyelet trimmed cardigans and tunics, lightweight layering pieces, cosy cable knits, printed and plain striped tunics and open comfy cardigans. Highlights include a show stopping hound's-tooth knit, along with winter staples such as cowl neck tunics.
Build the rest of your wardrobe around Ponti de Roma leggings, tube skirts in textures and splices, and coloured denim, the globe-shaking trend taking the fashion world by storm. Cargo pants will be another winter favourite, while our signature bengaline basics include trousers, dresses and a must-have skirt.
For girls who like to mix comfort with attitude, look out for printed velour tracksuits and leopard and geometric jersey dresses. There's also classic tweed suiting, as well as trench coats in striking brights and cropped jackets galore. Winter 2012 sees another global trend, the pleated shirt, interpreted in eye catching prints or solid colour, as well as shirts and tunics, all musts for every girl's wardrobe.
Prints also find themselves in outerwear such as hip anoraks with leopard, snake, python and zebra bringing animal magnetism to the season. Meanwhile cosy quilted parkas with fur trims and the season's hottest item, a leather-trimmed ponti jacket, promise to heat up the colder months.
This winter girls will also be getting sporty in zippy, chic track wear including anoraks, vests and an ultra comfy relaxed pant, perfect for raising your heartbeat and body temperature on a crisp stroll along the St. Kilda foreshore or through Sydney's Botanical Gardens.
